This convertible piece has become my winter favorite. It started with a pack of gorgeous Boheme yarn I won in Debbie Bliss’ knitting contest and a circular needle (and some fruit jellies). What I wanted was: 1) a project to make up quick watching a TV show, and 2) a garment to wear as a thick cowl and a shoulder warmer.

“Check” for both.

Then we had this photo set on a cold winter morning with my gorgeous friend Natali who showed me how my cowl could become a whole body warmer 🙂

Then I made another one in green with 2 yarns held together: Hayfield Bonus Aran with Wool, color 934 Green Heather, and a gorgeous mohair blend Ariadna by Victoria (not found on Ravelry, probably discontinued by now), color dark khaki. The green version I liked even better. And I’m sure I’ll make many more because I really love how quickly it makes up using any chunky yarn, and I love how it became such a universal garment!
